Well, it is a little odd that some people find it hard to think on eating dolphins- that said, I am a vegetarian, but what is humanity if not a desire to contradict yourself at every turn?
This is a nice blog, by the way (My random off-topic note of the day). Maybe... well, a reason I object to meat (dolphin, pig, cow, anything really) is *completely* a human over-thinking thing. It's not that I feel people shouldn't eat meat- I merely object to the wholesale slaughter of animals, their horrible conditions beforehand, and the overkilling. Naturally, human diets should probably be comprised of more vegetables than many developed countries citizens actually eat. Unfortunately... well, in short, I get the feeling the whole "we're-omnivores-but-I-have-moral-objections-to-eating-these-animals-HELP!" issue was just brought about by the way humanity has screwed up a lot of the "natural balance", the way that life cycles as well and food chains should work. But I digress, as I have begun to rant.
Thank you for posing such an interesting paradox- I will be sure to ponder it until my brain hurts.

I tend to think that all moral discussion about eating meat and what kind of meat is okay to eat is a symptom of our overactive big brains and the false dichotomy of body and soul (or mind, self, spirit, etc). We are animals. We are our bodies. We are animals that are fully equipped to eat meat. So why not eat meat? No one seems to object to other animals eating flesh. We don't consider other meat eating animals to be moral laggards for eating meat.

We have feelings of respect and reverence for lots of things that we consume but that doesn't stop us from consuming them. I love trees, wheat and corn fields and large bodies of fresh water but am quite willing to use them.

So say a prayer of thanksgiving and respect before eating that dog, horse or even dolfin and eat heartily.

That said, I have been polluted by the things that I am objecting to and would probably find it hard to eat a dolphin.

It's a quandary indeed. After your explanation this morning, I still can't decide how I feel on the matter, or why an opinion on the matter is so hard to justify.

But I was immensely pleased to discover the word "aquaria." Thank you for presenting its existence to me.

I thoroughly enjoy the new blog. Will you be posting your drawings here too?
